Community Guidelines
Last updated: 5 September 2025
These Community Guidelines apply to all UrTeam experiences (mobile app, website, APIs, and events organized through the app). They complement our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict, the Terms of Service govern.
TL;DR
Be respectful. No harassment, hate, sexual content, illegal or dangerous activity, scams, or spam. Share only what you have rights to share, and respect privacy and safety—especially around real‑world events and locations. Use the in‑app Report and Block tools when needed. We review reports as quickly as possible, prioritizing urgent safety concerns.
1. What UrTeam is for
UrTeam exists to help people organize and enjoy sports—join teams, create events, chat, share results, and celebrate progress. Community success relies on sportsmanship, safety, and respect.
2. Be respectful & inclusive
Treat others as teammates. Do not post or engage in:
- Harassment or bullying, personal attacks, dogpiling, or doxxing.
- Hate speech or slurs targeting protected characteristics (e.g., race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability).
- Threats or encouragement of violence, self‑harm, or property damage.
- Sexual content or sexualization of others; absolutely no sexual content involving minors.
- Graphic violence or gore.
Examples
- ✅ Competitive banter about your match.
- ❌ “You’re trash, go hurt yourself.”
- ❌ Posting a humiliating photo of a teammate without consent.
3. Safety first (online & at events)
- Real‑world events: Obey local laws and venue rules. Don’t organize illegal or unsafe activities. Respect capacity limits and safety instructions.
- Medical advice: Training tips are welcome, but do not present medical advice as professional guidance. Encourage consultation with qualified professionals.
- Location & privacy: Share your own location with care. Never post someone else’s private information (home address, non‑public phone/email, documents) without explicit permission.
- Minors: If your use involves minors, follow applicable laws and obtain guardian consent where required. Do not contact minors in inappropriate or unsafe ways.
4. Fair play & integrity
- No cheating or manipulation of scores, leaderboards, or match results.
- No doping / illegal substances: Do not promote, purchase, or sell illegal performance‑enhancing drugs or prescription substances without a prescription.
- No match‑fixing, betting facilitation, or sandbagging to gain unfair advantage.
5. Content you cannot post
- Illegal activities or instructions to commit them.
- Sexual content, pornography, sexual services; sexualization of minors = immediate ban.
- Extremism or terrorism support or propaganda.
- Scams, fraud, impersonation, or deceptive schemes.
- Malware, credential harvesting, or links to harmful sites.
6. Intellectual property & image rights
- Post only content you own or have permission to use. Don’t upload others’ copyrighted material, team logos, or broadcasts without rights.
- Get consent before posting identifiable images or videos of people, especially minors.
- Report IP concerns via [email protected].
7. Spam, promotions & commerce
- No spam: mass messaging, repetitive posts, link‑dumps, or engagement bait.
- Team/event promotion is okay if it’s truthful, relevant, and not excessive.
- No sale of illegal items, counterfeit goods, or unapproved supplements.
- Clearly disclose any paid partnerships or material connections where applicable.
8. Profiles, usernames & identity
- Don’t impersonate individuals, teams, clubs, officials, or brands.
- Usernames and bios must be appropriate and not misleading.
- Misuse of verification or misrepresenting credentials is prohibited.
9. Reporting, blocking & moderation
- Use Report on any post, message, event, or profile that violates these Guidelines.
- Use Block to prevent another user from contacting you or appearing in your feed.
- We review reports as quickly as possible and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts. Severe violations (e.g., child safety, credible threats) may lead to immediate action and notification of authorities where appropriate.
- For urgent safety threats, contact local emergency services first.
Appeals: If you believe we made a mistake, reply to the moderation email or contact [email protected] with context, and we’ll review.
10. Enforcement & escalation
- Education or warning (for low‑risk first incidents)
- Content removal and temporary feature limits
- Account suspension or permanent ban for repeated or severe violations
- Event removal or organizer restrictions for unsafe or non‑compliant events
We may also limit reach for borderline content, disable features, or require edits before re‑publishing. Decisions consider context, user history, and community impact.
11. Data protection & privacy
- Respect others’ privacy. Do not collect, post, or sell personal data without consent.
- Don’t share private chats or internal team communications publicly without permission.
- Review our Privacy Policy to learn how UrTeam processes data and your choices.
12. Platform integrity
- No scraping, reverse engineering, automated accounts/bots, or selling accounts.
- Don’t attempt to bypass safety systems, rate limits, or verification steps.

- Publish clear event rules, required gear, and safety expectations.
- Provide a transparent refund/cancellation policy (if charging fees).
- Address reports promptly; remove problematic participants from events when needed.
- Model respectful conduct and inclusive language.
14. Changes to these Guidelines
We may update these Guidelines as UrTeam grows. We will note changes here and, where material, notify users in‑app or via email. Continued use of UrTeam means you accept the current version.
